The story
Music from
the inside out
He did not choose film music for the glamour — he stayed for the quiet moment when a theme finally fits the frame.
Biography
Arranger first,
composer always
Nathaniel picked up the violin at fourteen, playing at school concerts and local string ensembles. By twenty he was arranging strings and programming beats for other composers — sitting quietly behind hit soundtracks, studying how a cue is built from a single line.
Twelve years of that work became his real training: patience, proportion, and knowing when to mute everything except the one sound the scene cannot do without.
Today he writes songs and scores from Studio 72 for features, streaming originals, documentaries and brands that care how they sound.
The road here
Milestones
The arranging years
Strings, rhythm and synth work for senior composers. Nights on the dub stage learning what to keep, what to cut, and when the room itself is the music.
First solo feature score
An athletics drama about runners who refuse to stop. Its closing theme still ends every live performance.
Thrillers & period dramas
A stretch of shadowy, textured scores — low pulses, bowed metal, and melodies that enter only when the story allows.
Studio 72 opens
A private room built around one habit: sketch on strings, produce in the box, deliver stems a mixer can trust blind.
Series, songs & brands
Season-long streaming scores, a growing song catalogue, and sonic identities for national campaigns.
“Good film music is felt before it is noticed — my work is to earn that feeling, then get out of the way.”Nathaniel Cole — Studio 72
